Erindi Tedda á netöryggisráðstefnu Fjarskiptastofu

Í dag var Fjarskiptastofa/ECOI með netöryggisráðstefnu þar sem Theódór Ragnar Gíslason, framkvæmdastjóri okkar og stofnandi, var með erindi þar sem hann varpaði fram eftirfarandi spurningu: Erum við einum veikleika frá game over? Hvaða veikleiki væri svo krítískur á birgðahliðinni að það hefði gríðarleg áhrif ekki aðeins á fyrirtækið þitt heldur líka á samfélagið okkar?

Fyrir þá sem náðu ekki að mæta á ráðstefnuna erum við með þrjú atriði sem hægt er að taka frá erindinu hans Tedda!:

Að bera kennsl á krítíska öryggisveikleika: Stofnanir þurfa að meta hvaða veikleika gæti valdið “Game over”, ekki bara innan þeirra eigin kerfa heldur einnig hjá birgjunum þeirra, með áherslu á samfélagsleg áhrif slíkra veikleika. 

Normalíserum umræðuna um öryggisveikleika: Hægt er að líkja netöryggisógnum við náttúruhamfarir og því þurfum við að eiga opið samtal um öryggisveikleika áður en þeir valda skaða. Með því geta fyrirtækið komið í veg fyrir stórtjón frekar en að bregðast við eftir atvik.

Að efla tilkynninga menningu: Líta ætti á öryggisveikleika sem tækifæri til úrbóta! Að hvetja til ábyrgar uppljóstrunar um öryggisveikleika hjálpar til við að skapa jákvæða netöryggismenningu, þetta eykur viðnámsþol samfélagsins!

When Retired Domains Come Back to Haunt: The Hidden Risk of Legacy Corporate Assets

Old domains get retired, but what happens when those domains can still receive password resets or act as the login email for third-party services for the previous owner?
